2015 Brunch on the Bricks

Brunch on the Bricks is an annual event at which we recognize new retirees and honor our colleagues who have passed away with inscribed bricks placed at the Legacy Gazebo on the Kennesaw campus and the Legacy Walk on the Marietta campus.

The program will begin at the Legacy Gazebo with speakers, entertainment, and a remembrance ceremony. Then we will proceed to the Leadership Room in the Student Center for brunch.

Parking will be available beginning at 8:00 am in the West Deck adjacent to the Social Sciences Building.




Montaluce Winery Tour, Sept. 23, 2015

Are you a wine enthusiast? Can you tell a  a riesling from a cabernet sauvignon? Are you interested in wines grown and bottled here in Georgia? Then this outing is for you!

If you’re just interested in a nice day in the mountains and lots of laughter and camaraderie, this outing is also for you! 

We will be enjoying lunch and a tour (wine tasting is optional) at the Montaluce Winery near Dahlonega on Wednesday, September 23. We will meet at the Winery at 11:00 (carpool or get there however you can) and spend several hours there. Dahlonega and the surrounding area provide a wealth of other activities. You might want to shop around the Dahlonega square, visit the Gold Rush Museum, or pan for gold after our winery tour!

Gazebo Work Day,  Sept. 18, 2015

In preparation for the annual “Brunch on the Bricks” event, retirees and grounds crew workers will gather at the Legacy Gazebo at 8:30 am on Friday, September 18, to clean up and spruce up the Gazebo and surrounding area.

Last year, we planted flowers, spread mulch, trimmed shrubs and swept the brick patio to make sure everything was in good shape for our annual program recognizing new retirees and remembering those who have passed away, either active employees or retirees, in the past year. This year, we will also be assisting with placing the bricks for new retirees and those who have passed.

Light refreshments and drinks will be available. Wear old clothes and bring your work gloves!
