Saturday, June 14, 2014, 5:30-9:30pm

The KSU Retirees Association invites you to gather for a relaxing and enjoyable evening at Gibbs Gardens located in Holly Springs off I-575.

Take a stroll at sunset surrounded by the beauty of the Valley Gardens. Soak in the sights and sounds of nature, gaze at reflections in the ponds, listen to birds singing nearby and the gentle splashing of waterfalls.

After your walk, meet up in the Arbor Grove to listen to live music, relax with a glass of liquid refreshment (alcoholic or non) and enjoy a snack or two.

Admission to the Gardens is $18.00 for seniors. Refreshments are sold by the vendor.

PLEASE RSVP: email or call 770-794-7984 if you plan to attend.

June 14: Twilight in the Gardens begins at 5:30 pm, featuring gourmet treats from Madeline’s Cafe and Bakery and music by Sweetwater: Cynthia Cero on dulcimer, Vince Ciliberto on guitar, Zachary Denton on fiddle and Jon Ciliberto on bass.

The KSU Alumni-2-Student Mentoring Program For Retirees

Fall 2013 - In an effort to bridge the gap between students and the working force, the Career Services Center has created the “Alumni 2 Student Mentoring Program”. KSU Retirees can play a valuable role in this program by mentoring current students and recent graduates who are seeking firsthand knowledge, guidance, and advice as they explore potential career and professional options. This program allows students to network informally with alumni and retirees who have experience in their chosen field. Help make a positive impact on “new talent” by joining this program today!

To become a mentor, please contact the KSU Retirees Association for a registration form, or log onto OwlLink at: (You will need your KSU ID number to log in to OwlLink.) For assistance with the OwlLink application, contact Tarrance Mosley at 770-423-6555.

The administration at KSU is well aware of the need to keep the institutional knowledge, skills, and service of the retiree population closely connected to campus. New resources are being dedicated to retirees, including a new part-time position in the Office of Development supporting the Retirees Association. A retiree would be ideal for this 19-hour per week position! Please contact Ellen Jones for details.

KSU would not be on its current tremendous growth trajectory if it were not for your work! As the campus begins celebrating its 50th anniversary, we look forward to sharing the milestones and achievements of KSU’s pioneers. Please mark your calendar for October 7-11, and join the many Founder’s Week activities on campus, including our Brunch on the Bricks Ceremony at 9:30 on Friday, October 11th at the Legacy Gazebo. More details on this ceremony are coming soon, but feel free to RSVP now by calling 678-797-2284 or emailing

Please find us on Facebook by searching “KSU Retirees” to see photos from retiree events and receive news in between quarterly issues of this newsletter. Your input and suggestions for programming are encouraged and always welcome, but an official survey to all retirees is coming later this academic year.

Thank you again for your service to and continued support of Kennesaw
State University.
